1. What you are supposed to market
Well, traditionally in the network marketing industry you are taught to market you business opportunity to everyone and anyone that will listen by chasing your friends and family, buying and cold calling leads, passing out flyer’s, approaching people shopping malls, etc… But if you are just marketing your MLM opportunity up front, these methods surely will not work. You need to adapt and apply the concept of Attraction Marketing to your business.
Your prospects are not looking for another sales person pitching them another business opportunity. There looking for a leader, someone who offers real value and someone that they feel they can benefit from. That or someone who has a system in place where they can get the training and guidance they need to be successful.
Lets look at it another way… if you were approached by a random stranger who was yapping away about his incredible business opportunity before he even gave you a chance to get to know him or a reason to join him, would you jump into business with that person? ABSOLUTELY NOT! You would never jump into business with anyone like that so if you are doing the same thing, don’t expect anyone to join you either!

You need to become a person of value and brand yourself as a leader, and that is what you market to your prospects instead of your opportunity. You prospects are going to want to know how you can help them succeed and if you don’t know how or don’t have a system in place that they can plug into, you hold no more value than your prospect therefore they have no reason to join you vs the next person pitching them an opportunity.
2. Who you are supposed to market too
This is crucial to building a successful MLM business. The fact is that if you are marketing too and trying to convince anyone who will listen, you are wasting your time because the majority of those people will never join your business. Why? Because you are marketing to people who have no real desire to go into business for themselves or change their financial situation. There are satisfied with where they are or they are either too afraid of change but that’s ok because guess what… that’s not the kind of people you want working with you anyway. You wan to work with people that are ready to change their lives, change their financial situation, go into business for themselves and are willing to work hard and to whatever it takes to reach their goals.
So how do you do that? It all comes down to WHO you are exposing your business too. Currently in the network marketing industry there are over 76 million active participants and guess what, 97% are failing! If you are marketing yourself as a leader who has a system in place that will provide your prospects with the training, support and guidance and you are marketing to other network marketers that are failing, you business will explode! By adapting what we discussed early which is Attraction Marketing, you will attract like minded people to you who are seeking more information about your opportunity. When you are talking to this kind of prospect, they will already be interested and most likely join you in your business.
3. How you are supposed to market
As I mentioned earlier, we are traditionally taught old school, offline marketing techniques which do still work but are simply not enough to build a successful, long-term MLM business. In the industry today, the most successful network marketers are taking those old school strategies and combining them with the power of the Internet to build their businesses. They understand the power & leverage of the Internet and they are using it along with their offline marketing to simply dominate the industry.
