As amazing as the network marketing industry is, there is a good chance that you might find yourself facing the same problem that plauges many other marketers: you just can’t seem to generate enough leads to get your MLM business off the ground! Well, we’ve all been there (even people like Mike Dillard
) and it can be extremely frustrating. You are well aware of the great opportunity you are offering, but you just can’t seem to generate the right attention, if any at all.
I’ve learned the following “secrets” to MLM lead generation. I really hesitate to even use the word secret because it gets so overused in our industry, but I’m going to make an exception here.
Become A Leader
Let me repeat that. Become a leader. No one wants to follow a follower. People want to follow leaders, so becoming a leader as quickly as possible should be high on your priority list! This has nothing to do with the number of sales you have, or how much money you make. This is about working on yourself and making yourself more valuable to others. It’s about teaching and helping your prospects and your team.
As entrepreneurs, working on our ourselves is just as critical as working on our business. We must take responsibilty for our own personal development because it is critically important to our success. The reality is that nothing is stopping us but us!
Give Value To Your Prospects
Let’s be real here. Nobody cares how much money you made last month or last year. What your prospects care about is how you can help them reach their goals and have success. We must always be providing value to our prospects and our team. This is one of my favorite quotes:
“We must give without want before we can receive.”
This is exactly what we are talking about. This really is one of the most important aspects of MLM lead generation. Remember to always be teaching and giving to our prospects and team. It’s okay to sell, but I would say 80-90% of the time we should be providing value and the other 10-20% of the time it’s okay to sell.
Don’t Come Across As Needy (Actually, Don’t BE Needy)
Your prospects will see right through you and nobody will want to join you. Remember, we have the opportunity that will change their lives and not the other way around, so there is no reason to feel needy. It’s important that you respect and value your time, and don’t waste it by chasing down the wrong people.
It’s one thing to follow up with your prospects and be courteous, but quite another to turn into a “stalker” and try to get them to sign up! The internet is a very abundant place to be and there are leads and prospects everywhere if you know how to market and where to look, so maintain that attitude of abundance and it will provide you with great rewards!
Before you can start marketing and generating leads, it’s essential that you understand these three concepts.. These three concepts will be the foundation upon which you will build, so that you can generate good quality leads for your MLM business. Once you really embrace them, nothing will stop you! You will be generating MLM business leads all day long!
