I recently came across your videos, of which are very intellectual/insightful. My parents often dragged me out to church, with me not even wanting to be there.I used to play guitar for the church seldomly, but decided to give it up. I saw through all the nonsense. Every Sunday it seemed we played the same songs/hymns repetitively(sp?), spending 10 minutes on 1 song.I asked why/offered my ideas, basically getting shunned and told it's the Spirit's leading. Also, I refused to tithe.

I'm sorry that you were disappointed by religion and religious folks. James said that true religion is visiting orphans, taking care of hopeless and single mothers and to keep yourself unspotted by the world. I think the phrase "the world" not only refers to he corruption of secular society but also that part of society so many refer to as "the church" or "religion." There are still true believers and followers of Jesus Christ and i hope God brings one to you to show you the real love of Christ.

I always felt that the story of the Christ was a hero story, one where the hero seeks to challenge the authority of the time and challenge the status quo and in the end sacrificed his life for that cause.

It depends on which archaeologists one listens to, some identify the Habiru tribe with the Israelites. Re. Jesus not being mentioned by Romans, they tended not to care about Jewish peasents, there are lots of faith healers at that time who were not mentioned, ie Honi Hammagel. But then again..I still tend towards atheism..and, I agree with you..I've gotten used to the condescending "he was never a real Christian" remarks..

I've heard the same of Jehovah Witnesses, but there's something that creeps me out about their 'churches' whenever I ride past one.A church with no windows? what the fuck is that about?

I understand where you are coming from. For example; How many Christians that bitch and moan about other faiths and judge judge judge would know what you mean when you ask if they have ever read the "Sermon on the Mountain"? Let alone, home many would know what it is? Sorry it was me complaining. Coffee has not kicked in yet. Yes I am placing blame on the coffee!

Yeah, I know what you mean. The whole "never really saved" thing gets me too. And I love the whole impression of Satan. :-P

I should have said "...not JUST an obligation..."God planned for Jesus to die as a sacrifice for our sins and Satan thought he had won a victory.Do you have children? Parents are willing to suffer much for the good of their children. But children who honor their parents do not take delight in causing them pain.
