I'm of Asian ancestry, and I didn't find the funny accent to be racist. And I do have relatives who speak in funny Asian accents.Of course, I might not be the best person to say this, since my ancestors were from Japan. To this day, there remains a mutual grudge between some Japanese & Chinese people.

I don't know, some people are sensitive. She probably wouldn't have cared though, like I said I'm way overprotective. Yeah I guess I kinda overreacted based on my first emotional response.

Well when it is encompanied by an argument and criticism of the person, it is more likely to be perceived as racist because racists often do that to dismiss what someone of another race says. But like I said I'm sure it wasn't your intention.I must admit though that I may not be entirely objective about this because the first thing that came into my mind was the thought of the Chinese woman that I love very much seeing it and having her feelings hurt (yes I'm overprotective).

Are these real objections someone posted to the idea of China becoming an economic superpower?One minor fact to consider: While it's true that during the 19th and 20th centuries China was oft engaged in various internal conflicts, foreign occupations, and 'civil wars' and that millions of Chinese did indeed die of starvation, it is also undeniable that China's industrial and other economic outputs have continuously risen in the same periods. Their GDP will overtake the US within our lifetime.
