Survey Says 9% of Chinese Youth Take Online Games 4 Hours
Just over 73% of Chinese youth, 73.1%, have played online games, however, only 8.81% play every day and 20.25% only play once every few months, a survey conducted by state-backed China Youth Social Service Center. Gamers playing about once a week accounted for 36.51% of "had played" respondents, while another 20% or so record a frequency of once every two or four weeks. Seventy-two percent of players were online for no more than two hours in one sitting, with 9% online for more than four hours at a time. Among the 25.6% of youngsters that have never played, 63.7% said they "do not want to" or "really do not want to" play. China Youth Social Service Center sent 7,700 questionnaires to teachers, parents and juveniles ages 9-16 between August and November 2007 to collect data across 10 provinces.
