Huawei in 2008

Huawei Technologies has seemingly defied the global economic gloom: sales income in 2008 rose 35 percent to US$17 billion. According to company vice-president Xu Zhijun, contract sales were worth US$23.3 billion in 2008, up 46 percent over the previous year and higher than its target of US$23 billion. 75 percent of the growth in contract sales came from overseas markets, with contract sales rising 42 percent year-on-year in Europe and 58 percent in North America.
